Dieter Schnebel
Sprechende Körper (Körper-Sprache) – Version 2011
Speaking Bodies (Body-Language)

With
Marilyne Fauquier, Heiki Ikkola, Amit Jacobi, Sabine Köhler, Jule Oeft, Julia Rosenberger, Anna Maria Warzecha, Johanna Weigmann

Concept, stage and musical direction:
Annette Jahns and Christian Kesten

According to his notion of "visible music", Dieter Schnebel uses in Speaking Bodies only body movements as compositorial material. Speaking Bodies is silent music. Listening works via eyes. Gestures, movements, postures sound in the spectator's imagination.

The piece is an "open work", the score just provides material for working. A new version is developed every time from EXERCISES, STORIES and NON-ACTION. The team Jahns/Kesten works in this version with microphones on the performers' bodies. The movements become audible.
